Dothan, Alabama man sentenced to federal prison after selling crack to EPD officer

Dothan, Alabama - A Dothan, Alabama man was recently sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for selling crack cocaine to an undercover officer with the Enterprise Police Department. Kelcey Yandall Clark, 29, pled guilty to the offense Aug. 4 in federal court.

According to EPD Public Information Officer Mike Lolley, on an informants tip, an undercover officer purchased cocaine from Clark on two separate occasions.

"The first purchase was $1,000 and the second purchase was $2,600," he said. "He (Clark) was also in possession of crack cocaine upon his arrest. Both of the buys were videotaped."

Lolley said the large amount of cocaine purchased, plus the amount found in Clark's possession, led the EPD to contact the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.
"It was a joint investigation between the two agencies," he said. "He (Clark) had 390 grams of cocaine, which is worth several thousands of dollars."

U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama Leura Garrett Canary said "the cooperation of various law enforcement agencies is critical to effective investigation and prosecution of criminal activity."
The case was prosecuted by assistant U.S. attorney Kent Brunson.
